Muse Entertainment, alongside Apple TV, created a safe and accessible set with Kiah Amara serving as our Production Accessibility Coordinator. Forty cast and crew members self-identified as having a disability. We hired five writers with disabilities making up half the writers’ room. We did a global search to find Logan Marmino who could authentically portray the lead role of Josh having the same limb difference. Muse Entertainment’s Best Foot Forward for Apple TV+ was praised by many media outlets including The New York Times for how the production prioritized disability representation on both sides of the camera. Her reign came to an end in May 2021 when the plane she was on crashed shortly after takeoff, killing her, her husband, their son-in-law and four other church leaders. As her church grew across the US and she accumulated power and money, she demanded that church members alienate themselves from anyone who was not a member, banished those that became overweight, threatened legal action against dissenters and advocated for strict punishment of those who failed to follow the church’s tenets. The film follows controversial religious leader and Christian diet guru Gwen Shamblin Lara, who founded the Remnant Fellowship Church and the Weigh Down Workshop. Executive producers are Nancy Bennett and Jesse Prupas. Produced by Muse Entertainment, and starring Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing), Gwen Shamblin: Starving for Salvation is directed by John L’Ecuyer from a script by Gregory Small and Richard Blaney. On February 4, 2023, Gwen Shamblin: Starving for Salvation will make its debut on Lifetime channel in the US. He takes the reins from his father, Michael Prupas, the respected industry veteran and founder of Muse, who now assumes the mantle as Executive Chairman of the Board.
